Stacking the Shelves (1)

One of my New Year's resolutions in 2018 is to not only read more books but to read more vintage/retro books, particularly young adult books from the '80s and '90s.

I've had the opportunity to volunteer at a used bookstore over the past few months while I've been looking for a new job. It has been one of the highlights during a very difficult time.

One of my favorite things about this bookstore, in particular, is they get a lot of vintage books. And since I usually sort and stock the store, I get to revisit some childhood favorites and come across some new books I missed in my youth.

I'm not sure how much longer I will be volunteering since I am down to the wire with finding a new job, but while I am still there I will continue to enjoy finding hidden vintage gems.

Stacking the Shelves

Starting today, I will begin participating in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly book meme where readers post the books they collected throughout the week. I will be posting pictures of some of the vintage books I come across on the bookstore shelves, books I've added to my to-read list, and those that are now sitting on my shelves to be read.

This week, I added five new books to my to-read list and one to my re-read list (I read it many years ago and am really excited to read it again). And, I am happy to say that they are all vintage teen/young adult books!

  1. I love used bookstores. Oh lucky you, you get to volunteer in one. One of my bookish resolutions this year is reading more books as well, particularly non fiction books. I hope you get to reach your goal this year. Have a wonderful week. 😁❤️
